The session will explore the inherent bias, equity and equality issues that students face in the world of virtual learning. Creation of engaging lesson plans, classroom management that help to address bias, prejudice, equity and equality will be explored.

Google Drive Tips & Tricks to Save Time and Improve Learning (60 min)
Are you lost within your own Google Drive? Cannot find the file you just made? Need more organization? Then is this is the session for you! In this session, you will learn how to easily find files, quickly organize your Drive, and learn some new tips and tricks that you didn't know you needed. These tips and tricks will be beneficial to share with your colleagues and students. Untitled documents from students will be a problem of the past, as you will be able to find everything you need within seconds! This will be a guided workshop with take-home resources and goodies for further learning, as we go beyond the basics of Google Drive!

Never Stop Learning with TVO (60 min)
TVO's digital learning resources represent all Ontarians, are available free of charge, and level the playing field for virtual and at-school learning. TVO is deeply committed to supporting Ontario students with its focus on well-being, excellence, and equity. Participants will be introduced to TVO's free Kindergarten to Grade 12 digital learning resources and the newly released learning tool, TVO Learn. The online learning tool, TVO Learn, provides curriculum-linked resources to support Ontario students, parents, and teachers in Grades 1 through 12, especially during this period of at-home learning. We invite you to explore how these resources can complement your existing learning at school, online, or at home.

How to Use your Bitmoji to increase Student Engagement (90 min)
I'm sure you've heard all about the Bitmoji craze by now!! Teachers everywhere are using their Bitmojis to help engage students and make their lessons and activities more interactive. This session might be for you if you are brand-new to making anything Bitmoji-related! First, we will be briefly reviewing how to make the Bitmoji avatar and how to get the Chrome extension that you will need. Then we will look at the various uses - Google Classroom banner, posters, anchor charts, stickers etc. Then we will learn how to build a virtual, interactive Bitmoji room that your students will love! If you have already been using your Bitmoji in the ways listed above, this workshop probably isn't for you. If it's new for you, join us! You will get the most out of the session if you have already created your avatar ahead of time.

Introduction and Continuum to Coding – Using Scratch (60 min)
We will look at the new coding stands in the Ontario math curriculum. The focus will be on unplugged and web-based coding using Scratch to teach these math concepts. Break-out sessions will be provided to those who are brand new to teaching code and those that are ready to learn more ideas.

Extensions to be explored may include (but are not limited to): Mote, Fullscreen Interactive Google Slides, Joypixels, Bitmoji, and Tab Group Saver. Some of these add fun, others add convenience, and all are timer savers!

Teach kids to code with Coding Quest! (60 min)
Coding Quest opens up the world of coding and computational thinking to students in Grades 1 to 8. In Coding Quest 1-3, students explore, create and build coding skills with Dash the Robot in Dash’s Neighbourhood. In Coding Quest 4-8, students further develop STEAM skills and global competencies by building a computer game or story using block-based coding and the engineering design process using Scratch 3.0. Educators do not require any coding experience and Coding Quest is easy to incorporate into the classroom – whether virtual, blended, or in-person.

Participants will learn the basics of Scratch JR and explore ideas for building literacy and early mathematics skills. We will model good practices for teaching coding and discuss strategies for supporting students in the classroom when you are learning yourself. Creating an Inclusive Classroom for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder through Technology (60 min)
A step-by-step guide for creating an inclusive classroom environment for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This session will focus on both in-person and virtual learning environments. Learn how Behaviour Analysts recommend using different technologies to welcome children with ASD to both virtual and in-person classrooms. Strategies will include how to effectively use behaviour management techniques including reinforcement and secondary reinforcement systems and using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to teach language and build routines. This session will be presented by two Behaviour Analysts with a combined two decades of experience creating individualized programming for children with ASD in alternative school settings and working collaboratively with interprofessional teams including teachers and school administrators.

The presentation will cover the resource book created from the project learning which provides teachers and other educators with step-by-step instructions to use math apps in the classroom as direct, guided, and independent learning. Teachers will be able to access the apps via iPad, chrome book, and computer. A second section will focus on 3-Part lesson plans which were created from the learning in this project using these apps (lesson plans cover primary and junior), as well as lesson plans to teach CODE and some other math strands. All lesson plans were created using the 2020 Ontario Math Curriculum.

Dr. Barber is a member of the PHE Research Council of Canada, and as a contributor to the Cross Canada PHE Teacher Education Research Group, she will share ideas and strategies for teaching PHE in a changing digital culture. Dr. Barber will be joined on a collaborative panel discussion of experts, featuring former Ontario Tech University B.Ed. grads currently working in fields across a variety of professions. Featured guests include Dr. Scott White (Chiropractor and Special Education/PE Teacher), Nicole Muchos (Kinesiologist and PE Teacher), Jeff Shepherd (PE Teacher and Coach in Upper Canada District School Board), Shannon Galea (Game Plan Specialist with the Canadian Olympic Committee/ Secondary PE Teacher). As unique leaders in sport, this team aims to provide rich discussion to empower participants to shift perspectives on PE, examine current research, and explore the future of Physical Education in a Digital World.
